Paso Robles in 2 Days

Paso Robles has turned into one of our favorite weekend trips! Here's how we recommend seeing the best of the area in 2 days!

Get a driver! Uber Wine exists up there, it's about $35 an hour and they stay with you the entire time until you want to go to your hotel. It's totally worth it to enjoy more wine!

Place to stay: Allegretto Vineyard Resort is our favorite hotel by far in the area. If you go on the off season you can get a good deal around $200 a night. They have a pool, jacuzzi, spa, lovely restaurant, and the rooms are fabulous and comfortable. Otherwise there are really cute Air BnB's that I've seen available.

Wineries to hit:

Tablas Creek: We have been members here for about 6 years now (mention that if you visit and/or become a member, we get a little gift certificate! haha) and we love it! Their history is extensive and were one of the first to bring French grapes to the US. I recommend taking a little tour and learning about their sustainability and the real history of their wines. Their Rhone style wines are very different than others you are going to try in the area, both their reds and whites, so I highly recommend a visit.

Epoch Wines: Epoch is newer to us and has quickly turned into a favorite. Their tasting room is brand new and gorgeous with outdoor lawn games. They specialize in blends and I have yet to try one I wasn't fond of! It is now reservation only, so make sure to book ahead.

Halter Ranch: This one is truly a massive estate and worth going on any one of their tours or horseback riding adventures through their vineyards. It can get busy, so I highly recommend a reservation. The wines are all solid, and I enjoy doing private tastings in their wine cave.

Daou Vineyards: By far the most gorgeous view in Paso! It can get extremely busy because of that, so I highly recommend a reservation. If you have time, this is a fun spot to do lunch as well because their kitchen is fabulous especially with pairings.

Calcareous: Another fabulous winery with a view! I recommend doing their cheese and wine pairings at this one!

Dilecta: This is a little hidden gem that we found about a year ago. It's a newer winery created by an amazing winemaker with a long background. The bottles are gorgeous because it's art done by his mother. He sources grapes from everywhere to make his wines so you really get a different range of flavors.

Justin: What trip is it with a visit to Justin? I know Justin has both a good and a bad rap...however, we still love them and we are longtime members. Their highest reserve wines are truly TO DIE FOR! Also, if you can snag a reservation at the restaurant for dinner, it's worth it! Definitely for a special occasion as it isn't cheap, but worth it!

Law Estate Wines: This one does extremely small production...to the point where last year the tasting room was closed because they didn't have enough production to keep it open! It is by appointment only, so make sure to make a reservation, you won't be disappointed!

Places to Eat:

Quick & Easy: Red Scooter Deli: Omg I could eat their sandwiches and salads everyday!!!! Great for picking up and enjoying at a winery for lunch.

Middle Ground: The Restaurant at Niner: They only serve lunch and not everyday, but this is a fabulous sit down and you can do pairings or not.

Higher End:

Il Cortile: One of our favorites for dinner, there's always truffles during the season with fabulous items across the board.

The Restaurant at JUSTIN: If you are in the mood for an amazing tasting menu with wine pairings, you need to go there!
